Butcher
Job Description: We’re The Lambing Shed, a busy and growing farm shop based on our working farm near Knutsford. We’re passionate about great meat, great service and doing things properly.
We’re looking for a skilled, enthusiastic and motivated butcher to join our team.
We’re about to embark on a major expansion, making this an exciting time to join us. We’re looking for someone who wants to get stuck in, bring ideas to the table and grow with the business.
You’ll be working with premium, home-reared beef and lamb from our own farm, alongside other locally sourced produce.
The Role
- Full carcass butchery and preparation of retail cuts
- Making sausages, burgers and other value-added products
- Keeping the butchery counter looking fantastic and fully stocked
- Providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety standards
- Working with the wider team on promotions, stock and reducing waste
- Helping us develop the butchery as the business grows
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Previous butchery experience and strong knife skills
- Confidence with full carcass butchery
- Pride in producing high-quality work
- A positive, enthusiastic and hardworking attitude
- A passion for great food and quality meat
- The ability to work independently and as part of a small team

Front of House Supervisor
Job Description: The Lambing Shed Farm Shop is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Front of House Supervisor to join our busy farm shop café.
We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves hospitality, takes pride in making customers feel welcome and goes the extra mile to create a great experience.
Our café can get very busy, particularly at weekends, so you’ll need to thrive under pressure, stay calm and be happy to lead from the front and get stuck in wherever needed.
We’re expanding the business in 2027, making this an exciting time to join the team, with plenty of opportunity for personal growth, development and progression as we grow.
This is a full-time position with daytime hours only, generally between 8:30am and 5:30pm. Weekend availability and flexibility are essential.
Suited to a candidate with previous Assistant Manager or Supervisor experience in a busy hospitality environment. With up to 180 covers in our new restaurant, proven experience in a similar role is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Front of House team during busy breakfast, lunch and afternoon services.
- Deliver warm, friendly and attentive customer service, always looking for ways to go the extra mile.
- Hands-on role in supporting and coordinating events, ensuring food quality, service standards and smooth events operations.
- Take orders, serve food and drinks and make coffees to a high standard.
- Keep the team organised and service running smoothly during busy periods.
- Lead by example with a positive, hands-on approach.
- Delegate tasks, support colleagues and help maintain a great team atmosphere.
- Open and close the café and maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.
- Handle customer queries confidently and professionally.
- Support the Front of House Manager with the day-to-day running of the café.
- Help train and support new and existing team members.

- Previous supervisory or team-leading experience in hospitality is required.
- Experience in food safety and preparation procedures.

Temporary Event Staff
We’re looking for friendly and enthusiastic people to join our team as temporary event staff for our busy autumn and Christmas events.

The Lambing Shed
We’re looking for people who are available to work weekends and enjoy being around people. Our event team will help make sure our customers have a brilliant experience, with roles including:
- Scanning tickets
- Taking payments
- Welcoming and interacting with customers
- Being a friendly face and helping visitors throughout their day
Our events include Pumpkin Picking, starting 26th September, with shifts throughout the weekends in October, followed by our Christmas events in late November and December.
